“Chuck and Charlotte’s Spring Adventures”
For this project, I set out to capture the day-to-day life of several groundhogs living on campus. Though only two appear in the photographs together, I briefly glimpsed a third. This is a little unusual, since groundhogs (also known as woodchucks and whistle pigs) are not typically social creatures. They are usually only seen together during mating season, but this happens to coincide with the coming of spring and their emergence from hibernation. This was a foray into wildlife photography and I utilized a high shutter speed to capture their actions as they readjusted to the world around them.
