Assignment12_LizzyG

This is the story I decided to tell. I wanted to show the trip my family took to Boston to go see a Bruins game in early March. However, as I was taking these photos. I noticed that I was really drawn into seeing things from the perspective of my 10 year old brother. I tried to take my pictures as if I was him and the lense of my cannon was how I could see things as if I was that little again. I wanted to capture the wonder that a little small town boy would see driving to a big city like Boston. I saw his mood shift while we were driving and got closer and closer. So it strated as boring highway signs to seeing a huge, shinny city for the first time. Gillen's Family Trip to Boston

This class has been a learning experience for me for sure. Prior to this class I had not alot of expereince with DSLR. Now I am proud to say that I own my own Cannon T6 Rebel and I take photos almost every day. The skills I have learned have helped me in so many areas. I have learned how to tell a story through my photos rather then my words. Although I feel as though my photos do not compare to all of the other students in this class, I think that I have learned so many things. This had to be my most challenging class this semster because all of these topics used to be forgein to me. I’m super greatful for this experience and all of the things i have learned. I love having the tools to capture my favorite moments in life.

I walk by this spot in Little hall each Tuesday and Thursday of my week. When the sun is shinning I am always so brought into this spot. I thouht that it was a great canidate for HDR. I am still learning how to detect when things are canidates for HDR. I am really happy however, with how this photo came out. I really love how the greens of the tree outside the window really draws my eye in. And the slight red of the brick on the side makes the green look even greener.

This was my most difficult assingment in this class. It was really difficult for me to learn how to import/export from my computer to lightroom in a way where I could get the 20/20 image. Learning how to use lightroom has been the most difficult portion of this class. After this assingment however, I have a much greater understanding of how lightroom and adobe photoshop operate. I feel as though some of my photos do not always capture the message I was trying to send out.

I decided to tell the story of my families trip from Portland ME to Boston. It was amazing to see the trip through the eyes of my little brother. I got to see the beauty and wonder that a child would see going from a small Maine hometown to a big unknown city. I also thought it would be somewhat comical to tell the story of the difference in donut preference between my family. We went to two different donut places. It was a beatiful day in the city, there were no clouds in sight. Our trip to Boston was a great way to spend time with my family.
