First attempt at getting portraits during a hockey game failed because a). it was cold, and b). it was COLD. So, I sat out in my hallway until some neighbors passing by were willing to participate.

I really love the smiles that these two photos display. They both show something different different about the subjects. The first girl looks photo ready; like she is accustom to being photographed. The second girls has that “ooookay” sort of smile. Both images transport me behind your lens. As if I am hearing their responses as well.

The neutrality of the background makes the subjects pop out. As mentioned above, you really capture the reactions of the two subjects perfectly.

I feel like these photos are raw and real. I particularly like the girl who is looking off to the side, we all have those awkward moments and I think she reflects what we all feel.
